This support article will go over building and customizing great looking dynamic forms. The following video will show you how to create a custom form in SharpSpring. However, if you prefer, a written step-by-step guide is available below the video for your convenience.
Step-by-Step Guide to Create Custom Forms
Step 1:Click on the green "New" button located in the top right corner of SharpSpring.
Step 2: Select "Form" in the drop down menu.
Step 3: In the pop up menu, choose a name for your form.
Step 4: Select the type of form you want to create. SharpSpring allows you to use three types of forms: SharpSpring, native or 3rd-party. A more in-depth tutorial for each of these types of forms can be found here and here.
Step 5: Click on the blue "Continue" button.
You should see a page with three tabs: General, Fields and Styles. Let's take a look at each of these tabs in more detail.
In the Form URLs section, you can add a Thank You page URL and Postback URL.
Thank You Page: The Thank You page field is where you post the URL to any customized Thank You page you created. If you leave this field blank, SharpSpring will automatically generate a basic Thank You message after a visitor fills out the form.
Postback: The Postback URL field is used for when you want to pass the form data onto a 3rd-party. Simply paste the URL into the field and the data will be sent to the 3rd-party.
Form Data: In the Form Data section, you can choose how you would like to submit form data to the "Thank You" page.
The Fields tab is where you will pick the fields that you want to display on the form. The only field required is email. More information on custom fields, can be found here.
In the first field in the styles tab, you can paste your website's CSS URL. This will allow the form to take on the look and feel of your website. The next section is the "Submit Button Text" section, which is your Call-To-Action button. These are completely customizable. You can change the color, shape and text of the button. The changes you make will display in real time. If you want a more substantial tutorial on creating a custom button, click here.
Before you exit the "Forms" page, click on the green "Save Changes" button in the lower right corner of the page.
