SharpSpring enables you to add merge tags to emails. Merge tags allow you to create dynamic content that can enhance the personalization of your message.

Step-by-Step Guide on how to add Merge Tags to an Email
Step 1: Click on "Content" in the top navigation bar.
Step 2: Select "Emails" in the drop down menu.
Step 3: Choose an email and click "Edit." Hover over the email template that you want to use and click on the green icon that looks like a wrench.
Step 4: Click somewhere on the email body (left) to view it on the edit screen (right).
Step 5: Place your cursor just after the salutation.
Step 6: Click on the “Merge Variables” icon. It's located on the toolbar, just above the alignment icons.
Step 7: Select "First Name" from the drop down menu.
Step 8: When the email is sent, it will automatically place the contact’s first name just after the salutation.
